Godly Irony

Kids who advertise UK atheist campaign are Christians

Two children, chosen to help advertise British atheist Richard Dawkins’s latest assault on God, are actually from one of the UK's most devout Christian families, reports Michael Ireland, chief correspondent, ASSIST News Service.

ates: "With the slogan 'Please don’t label me. Let me grow up and choose for myself,' the youngsters with broad grins seem to be the perfect advertisement for the new atheism being promoted by Professor Dawkins and the British Humanist Association.

"Except that they are about as far from atheism as it is possible to be. The Times can reveal that Charlotte, 8, and Ollie, 7, are from one of the country's most devout Christian families," says Gledhill.

Gledhill reveals their father, Brad Mason, is "something of a celebrity within evangelical circles as the drummer for the popular Christian musician Noel Richards."

Gledhill says that now a web designer and photographer, Mason has been supplementing his income for years by providing photographs to agencies who sell them on to newspapers and advertising campaigns.

Mason said: "It is quite funny, because obviously they were searching for images of children that looked happy and free. They happened to choose children who are Christian. It is ironic. The humanists obviously did not know the background of these children."

He said that the children’s Christianity had shone through.

"Obviously there is something in their faces which is different. So they judged that they were happy and free without knowing that they are Christians. That is quite a compliment. I reckon it shows we have brought up our children in a good way and that they are happy."

Gerald Coates, the leader of the Pioneer network of churches, which Mason and his family used to attend before they moved to Dorset, said: "I think it is hilarious that the happy and liberated children on the atheist poster are in fact Christian."

That would hurt

I may be feeling pretty sick but at least I don't have a fir tree growing inside my lungs.

'Tree' in Patient's Lung

A five-centimeter fir tree was found in the lung of a man in Central Russia last week. Doctors conducting a biopsy (as they thought he had a tumor) were surprised to see green needles in the cut. It's speculated that the patient might have inhaled a small bud, which then started to grow in his body. More here.

Tonight on Coast To Coast AM with Art Bell

The flying spaghetti monster. Is it real?  Tomorrow in the first hour we discuss the origin of the universe and its relationship to the supercomputer. Are we its offspring?   Second and third hours are open lines.

Description:

"Although Dr. Lewis Wolpert did not use the word "flying spaghetti monster", he used "special computer" in  place of it. As a result, Wolpert refuted himself!"

Lots of happenings

There is a lot happening right now in the Catholic world and beyond. Since I have no time to comment on it all and since he does a much better job of it anyway, I'll let Mr. Thomas Peters (American Papist) handle it.

Who done it?

As entertaining as the Dawkins video is, the responses to it on various websites are hilarious.

"I need to say that i hate this video , its extremely well done , but science will eventually overcome god , so that maybe we can live in a peaceful word without religious wars god does not bless murderers--->USA"

"I'm honestly not quite sure who made that thing. I could swear it could be read slightly more easily as pro-creationist than pro-science."
...
"No way--it's far too smart to be pro-creationism. Whoever made it is on the side of the atheists... thank... something or other."

LOL.

They (people on one pro-atheist website) go back and forth for nearly 500 posts on whether the video was made by "creationists" or the "pro-science crowd". The basic gist of the conversation goes like this.....' It couldn't be made by "creationists" because it's too clever and too funny'.  Then there are the posters trying to sound ultra intelligent by randomly inserting obscure anatomical terms into their posts in an attempt to be funny & to impress.  Seriously, it reads like a bunch of teenagers or "I know everything" college students trying to fit in and/or impress everyone. The generalizations and the categorizations (us vs them) seems a bit juvenile.  Anyway, here we have a group of self proclaimed academic elites(of course they are smart..they are atheists..its inherent.. lol)  arguing about the creator of a video on youtube. Anyone else find that funny?  Can you understand why I don't do debates anymore? :)

Well, whoever made the video, I think it's funny and well done. Since I am merely an unintelligent 'believer', I will leave it to the smart people to figure out who done it.  Someone get back to me....oh but please don't use any big words in your reply. I have a hard time reading them there fancy werds.

BEWARE THE BELIEVERS!

A  funny little video that takes a jab at some prominent atheists. Yanked from   http://catholicaudio.blogspot.com/

Quote from the blog owner-"The second video is a hysterical JibJab-ish take on the New Athiests (or "Brights" as they laughably call themselves), including Daniel Dennett, Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and others, as well as their prophet Charles Darwin. If you don't know who they are, you might click on the "Atheism" tab at the bottom of this post -- I've linked to all the debates of theirs I can find"

All in the spirit of fun my friends!  Catholics take way more than their share of stuff like this.
